Alexander is a global medical technology and consumer services executive, with experience as CEO and General Manager of growth businesses. He founded DanaShift with a vision to accelerate innovation in healthcare and beyond, and enable more patients to benefit from impactful therapies.

A change agent, he understands what it takes to create and sustain transformational momentum in large, complex organizations to deliver growth and efficiencies, and drive cultural change. He operates confidently across geographies and industries with a focus on people.

A customer advocate, he believes that lasting growth comes from offering unique experiences through innovative products, smooth workflows and exceptional service.

Alexander has extensive experience across North America, Western Europe and Asia, and has led projects across a spectrum of healthcare, service and industrial segments: medical devices (surgical, eye care), pharmaceuticals (Rx, generics, specialty, biotech), consumer health (supplements, OTC), diagnostics (instruments, laboratories, radiology), services (CRO, contract sales, inspection testing, telemedicine), agrochemicals, animal health, consumer packaged goods (food), software (SaaS, EMR, big data), B2B services, energy, telecommunications and industrials.

His areas of expertise include: product innovation and branding, customer experience, commercial operations, business transformation, change management, talent management, turnarounds, financing, business development including acquisitions, licensing and partnerships, negotiations, and leadership development and coaching,

A decisive entrepreneur, he founded Wagly, a high growth private equity-backed multi-unit pet service and veterinary group, on a mission to simplify pet parenthood. The company is set on delivering a new experience to pet parents. Wagly locations conveniently bring together pet services such as boarding, daycare, grooming, along with a comprehensive range of veterinary care.

Alexander served as corporate officer with IDEXX Laboratories, with P&L responsibility for the publicly traded diagnostic leader’s portfolio of software, hardware and big data products. In this role, he relentlessly turned around businesses resulting in increased growth and EBITDA. He built new B2B and B2B2C ventures, including Pet Health Network Pro, an innovative client communications service. He spearheaded the creation of VetConnect PLUS, a SaaS and mobile platform that 15,000+ veterinary hospitals around the world use to access their diagnostic information and share it with clients.

Earlier in his career, Alexander was a senior consultant with McKinsey & Company’s pharmaceutical and medical products practice for 10 years, initially at the firm’s Geneva, Switzerland office, then transferring to its healthcare hub in New Jersey. In this role he conducted over 50 engagements, with a focus on driving large scale commercial transformations, retooling clients’ commercial efforts to better connect with healthcare providers, payors and patients. His work also included engagements in the areas of innovation and growth, organization and talent management, and turnarounds and restructuring efforts.

Alexander is originally from Denmark and Sweden and earned his MBA from HEC Lausanne, and a BS in Political Science from University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Alexander is fluent in English, French, Danish and Swedish and has good knowledge of German. He is the proud father of two daughters, Emma and Audrey. In his spare time, he flies planes, and climbs mountains, most recently scaling theGrand Teton’s lower Exum Ridge, Mount Whitney’s Mountaineers Route, Mount Rainier’s DC, or the Peuterey Integral Ridge on Mont-Blanc.
